What is not success

What may seem to be success may not be.

. I have at times acted in a way that indicated my success was a result of my effort. I have acted at times in a way that indicated my ability was a product of me. I been quick to accept the praise of others and I have at times been offended when others spoke truthfully about my inabilities. I have acted at times in a way that indicated I knew more than others. I have acted at times in a way that indicated that I, out of my own effort, could help others. . I have acted in  a way that indicated my financial status was mine, not He Who provided it. I have acted in a way that indicated my purpose was mine, not He Who provided it.  

What is not success: any and all activity no matter how noble, how good, etc that is done out of an attitude that it has occurred because of the human effort involved without the recognition of He Who provided the ability and desire in the first place.  

If you are not representing all of Who God Is, you are not as successful as someone who is, even if that person is physically sick, penniless, without a family, etc. 

Proverbs 16:19 Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.

Proverbs 19:7 The poor is hated even by his neighbor, But those who love the rich are many.

Proverbs 19:1 Better the poor whose walk is blameless than a fool whose lips are perverse.

Proverbs 28:6 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than he who is crooked though he be rich.
