Blaming No One

Occupy yourself in beholding and bewailing your own imperfections rather than contemplating the imperfections of others.

Saint Ignatius

At times I have been critical of what I "thought" were the motivations and intentions of other people. At times I have been critical of what I "thought" were the motivations of the silence and/ or speech and inaction and /or actions of other people. At times I condemned/ blamed others for why someone got hurt.

It is my belief that if you claim to be someone who represents God, yet on the other hand you in your heart condemn/ blame anyone, you misrepresent God more than if you did not claim to represent God.

John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

 If you have hurt yourself by condemning/ blaming anyone in your heart, you have misrepresented God. God wants to help you. He wants you to turn back to condemning/ blaming no one to the same extent He does not condemn you.

John 8:11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

Romans 14 :10-13  You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. 11 It is written:

“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,

‘every knee will bow before me;

    every tongue will acknowledge God.’”

12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.
