Wanting to hurt no one

May God our Lord never let me harm anyone when I cannot help him!

Saint Ignatius

I have misrepresented God in my heart,

Abraham Lincoln: With malice toward none, with charity for all, ...let us strive on to finish the work we are in, ...to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.

God in his heart  has never wanted to hurt you. You are hurting yourself if you misrepresent God by  harboring ill will in your heart towards anyone. If you have harbored ill will in your heart towards anyone God does not want to condemn you. He wants to help you turn back to only wanting the best for other people.

1 John 3:23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

Psalm 28:3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts.

Proverbs 26:26 Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

Mark 7:20-22  He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them.  For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder,  adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.  All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

Romans 14 :19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

1 Corinthians 5:8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Colossians 3:8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

Titus 3:3 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

1 Peter 2:1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.
