Foolishness

I have struggled being wise. I have been very foolish in what I have said, and done. I have been foolish in my use of money, I have been foolish in my motivation(s), there are many other ways I have been foolish. 

Titus 3:3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

One way to help you understand what something is may be to help you understand what something is not. 

It is not wise to not want to know the truth.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

It is not wise to communicate what is not true. 

Proverbs 10:18 Whoever hides hatred has lying lips, And whoever spreads slander is a fool.

It is not wise to think you are correct when you are not. 

Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.

It is not wise to not listen to wise people. 

Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

It is not wise to think you are wise when you are not

Proverbs 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.

It is not wise to think you know something when you know nothing.

Folly is an unruly woman; she is simple and knows nothing.

It is not wise to want something more than you need to want (God)

1 Timothy 6:9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

It is not wise to misrepresent God. 

1 Samuel 13:13  And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever

It is not wise to listen to communication that is not true. 

Proverbs 14:7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, When you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.

It is not wise to hear the truth and not do it. 

Matthew 7:26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:

It is not wise to hear the truth and not believe it.
