Purity

At times I have wanted money, family, to be seen "as important, as smart, as rich, etc" more than I have wanted God.

God Whoever He Is has complete purity in his thoughts, motivations, actions etc. He has only ever wanted you, there is nothing in his heart He wants more than you.

God would not be Who He Is if He did not try to help you live the best life you could live.    You are far better off to be unknown, destitute,  and physically sick yet represent God by living a life that is pure than to be famous, own the whole world, and be psychically healthy yet misrepresent God by not having purity.

If you have lived in a way that is not pure I believe God wants to help you live in a way that is pure. One of the ways you can allow Him to help you to be pure is to turn back to wanting nothing more than God in your heart.

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Purity: wanting nothing more in your heart than God to the same extent that God in his heart wants nothing more  than you.
