More about Life

Anyone who truly loves God travels securely.

Teresa of Avila

For a long time I thought God did not want me, let alone want me to live .

What is life?

  I believe you can better understand what the word life means by understanding the point of life. I do not believe there is a point  in living  if you do not want to live and the will to live will never return. Therefore I believe the meaning of the word life reflects emotional wholeness.

Better to be penniless and living on the street yet have life (be emotionally whole) than own everything yet feel like nothing at all.

Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

It can be difficult to be emotionally whole when you have been deeply hurt.

Proverbs 27:19 As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.

So in order to help you be emotionally whole it is first necessary to help remove what may be making it difficult for you to be emotionally whole.

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Romans 8:6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

 I believe it is possible to help you want to know God by helping you know the Truth about God.   I believe when you know there is nothing God wants more than you, you will be a lot more able to be emotionally whole.

Job 42:1-8

Then Job replied to the Lord:

“I know that you can do all things;

    no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’

    Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,

    things too wonderful for me to know.

“You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak;

    I will question you,

    and you shall answer me.’

My ears had heard of you

    but now my eyes have seen you.

Therefore I despise myself

    and repent in dust and ashes.”

7 After the Lord had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has. 8 So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and sacrifice a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.”
