The Mind

Ecclesiastes 2:12 Then I turned my thoughts to consider wisdom, and also madness and folly. What more can the king’s successor do than what has already been done?

The brain is the physical representation of the mind. The health of the brain is directly related to the health of the mind. A healthy mind equals a healthy brain. A healthy mind  is a mind that thinks correctly. Another name for correct thought is truth.  Therefore a healthy mind is a mind that thinks truthfully.

The ultimate outcome of representing God is life (Truth), the ultimate outcome of misrepresenting God is death ( absence of truth) .

Proverbs 10:16 The wages of the righteous is life, but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death.

You represent God when you from your heart want nothing more than you want God,  to the same extent that  He wants nothing more than He wants you.

1 Chronicles 29:18 Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

Therefore the main reason a person may have thoughts that are not true is because they are not representing God in their heart.

Matthew 9:4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?

Mark 7:21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder,

When you think something is true about God when it is not true it can hurt your heart. This can be because of communication about  God that is not true. This can be because you have had God misrepresented to you.

John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

If you have misrepresented the truth, deciding to turn back from misrepresenting the truth helps you know the truth.

Jeremiah 4:14 Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart and be saved. How long will you harbor wicked thoughts?

Proverbs 1:23 Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings.

Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

God wants to help you know the truth about Him.

1 John 3:8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

God wants to help you know him in your heart

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

When you know God in your heart, you will be a lot more able to represent Him in your heart leading to correct thought (truth) in the mind.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Jeremiah 31:33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Acts 4:32  All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.

1 Peter 1:22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.
