Heart issues.
What you want to do is more important than what you do. One of the ways to help you live life is to help you represent God in your heart. (Help your want to) If you have wanted something more than God, this can hurt you. God would not be Who He Is if He did not want to help you no longer want to hurt you.
Jeremiah 31:2 Is not Ephraim my dear son, the child in whom I delight? Though I often speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I have great compassion for him,” declares the Lord.
Joel 2: 12-13 “Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”

Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
I believe one of the ways to help the condition of you heart is to help you represent God in your heart. God has only ever wanted you for no other reason than He wants nothing more than you.
. 1 Samuel 30:6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
Psalm 112:7 They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
If you have wanted something more than God., I believe one of the ways to help you is to help you return to wanting nothing more than God.
2 Chronicles 30:6-9
6 At the king’s command, couriers went throughout Israel and Judah with letters from the king and from his officials, which read:
“People of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, that he may return to you who are left, who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria. 7 Do not be like your parents and your fellow Israelites, who were unfaithful to the Lord, the God of their ancestors, so that he made them an object of horror, as you see.8 Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the Lord. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you. 9 If you return to the Lord, then your fellow Israelites and your children will be shown compassion by their captors and will return to this land, for the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.”
James 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
If you want something that is hurting you, one of the ways to help you is to help you repent for wanting to hurt you.
Ezekiel 14 1-6 Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me. 2 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 3 “Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all? 4 Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry. 5 I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.’
6 “Therefore say to the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!
Acts 8:22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart.
If you do not know the consequences of you hurting you one of the ways to help you not hurt you is to help you know the consequences.
1 Corinthians 10:6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.
IF you want something more than God, one of the ways to help the condition of your heart is to give that up.
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Mark 10:21-22 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But at these words [a]he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.
2 Timothy 2:22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Its a bit hard to want nothing more than God if you have imagined God hates you, so one of the ways to help the condition of you heart is to help you know the truth about God. How that God wants nothing more than you for no other reason than He wants nothing more than you. Its a bit hard to know the truth about God without knowing God. So one of the ways to help you is to help you be more accepting of what He has already done through His only Begotton Son.
