Untrue Value of God

One way to better understand the true value of God is  to understand what an untrue value of God is

The value and worth of God reflects His character or nature

Deuteronomy 15:9

Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say, ‘The seventh year, the year of release is near,’ and your eye look grudgingly on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to the Lord against you, and you be guilty of sin.

A person with an untrue value of God thinks God has a character and nature that He does not have.

Thinking something is true that is not true about the value of God does not change the value of God, instead it changes the value you perceive God has.

An untrue value of God is not caused by God.

Matthew13:24-25  He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field,  but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds  among the wheat and went away.

An untrue value of God can lead to you hurting yourself without you even being consciously aware of it.

John 8:33  They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”

Examples of an untrue value of God:

God does not want me,

God hates me,

God doesnt think I am worth providing for

God doesnt think I am worth freeing from hurt

God wants to condemn me

God doesnt think I am worth more than physical possessions

God doesnt think I am worth forgiving

God doesnt think I am worth a future
