You
For many years of my life I did not really know who I was. I had a name and an appearance.
If all you are is no more, still all you are can be
You are not what people say or not say about you. You are not what you say or not say about you. You are not what you feel or not feel about you. You are not what the doctor says about you. You are not what the psychiatrist says about you. You are not what the government says about you. You are not what your partner says about you. You are not what the bank says about you. You are not who the policeman says you are. You are not just a body. You have a unique Identity. You are a unique purpose or dream. This unique purpose or dream does not originate from you. This unique purpose or dream does not originate from your effort. It does not originate from your work. It does not originate from your friends. It does not originate from your looks. It does not originate from the speed of your motor car. It does not originate from your money. It does not originate from the number of houses you own. It does not originate from the way you feel. It does not originate from what people have or have not said about you. This purpose or dream originates from He Who Made You.
There is simply no point in your life if you cannot be you. For your life to have any meaning you must be able to be yourself. Of yourself you cannot be fully yourself, otherwise you already would be. God Whoever He Is would reveal Himself sufficiently to you so that you would be able to trust Him. He would reveal Himself sufficiently to you so that you would be able to give all of who you are to Him, not out of a sense of obligation or guilt, but because of Who He Is. When you are enabled to completely represent God (no longer misrepresent God in your heart), you will be all who you were made to be. You are of great value to God, God places a greater value on you than He places on Himself.
God would rather be no more so You could be all You were made to be than live while You become no more.
John 17:23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
