He Is Worth More than the Hurt in Your Past

I have turned away from God and in so doing I have caused hurt.

If you have placed a higher value on anything other than God in your heart you have turned from God. He has never placed a higher value on anything else other than you in His heart.

Judges 2:17 Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped them. They quickly turned from the ways of their ancestors, who had been obedient to the Lord’s commands.

Judges 10:10 Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord, “We have sinned against you, forsaking our God and serving the Baals.”

2 Samuel 24:10 David was conscience-stricken after he had counted the fighting men, and he said to the Lord, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, Lord, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing.”

2 Chronicles 24:18 They abandoned the temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and worshiped Asherah poles and idols. Because of their guilt, God’s anger came on Judah and Jerusalem.

Ezra 9:6 and prayed: “I am too ashamed and disgraced, my God, to lift up my face to you, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens.

Ezra 9:15 Lord, the God of Israel, you are righteous! We are left this day as a remnant. Here we are before you in our guilt, though because of it not one of us can stand in your presence.”

Psalm 41:4 I said, “Have mercy on me, Lord; heal me, for I have sinned against you.”

Isaiah 1:4 Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.

Jeremiah 3:13 Only acknowledge your guilt— you have rebelled against the Lord your God, you have scattered your favors to foreign gods under every spreading tree, and have not obeyed me,’” declares the Lord.

You of yourself do not have sufficient worth to make payment for the hurt you have caused when you have turned from God

Psalm 37:38 But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for the wicked.

Isaiah 1:28 But rebels and sinners will both be broken, and those who forsake the Lord will perish.

Matthew 23:33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

1 Peter 4:18 And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”

God does not want to hold the hurt you have caused against you, He wants to help you accept the sacrifice of Someone Who has sufficient worth to make payment for the hurt you have caused.

There exists no hurt in your past that is more than the Worth of the Only Begotten Son of God.

Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory (worth) and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Luke 22:7 Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.

Romans 3:25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

1 Corinthian 5:7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Ephesians 5:2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Hebrews 7:27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.

Hebrews 9:26 Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.

1 John 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Even if you have turned away from Him in more ways than most.

Psalm 51:13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.

Matthew 9:11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Luke 15:18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

Luke 18:13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

Mark 2:17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Luke 15:2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

John 6:37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
