Life‎ > ‎Forgiveness‎ > ‎Forgive‎ > ‎

The next hardest thing

I have struggled loving those I thought had hurt someone I valued highly.  For a long time I was bitter towards them.

I believe if you are struggling loving those you should love one of the main reasons is you do not understand God loves you.   I believe if God enables you to understand how much He loves you, you in turn will be more able to love those you are meant to love.

God in his heart loves you even if you are struggling loving anyone.

When you know (know in your heart) God, I believe you will find it easier to love others.
1 John 2:4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.

If you do not know God, I believe you may find it difficult to love others.
1 John 4:20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

1 John 4:10 This is lovenot that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

John 13:34
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

John 15:12
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Romans 12:10
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Ephesians 4:2
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

1 John 3:18
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Matthew 5:43-48
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
